Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Cain Center for the Arts is seeking an Event Manager to help us fulfill the organization’s mission of providing exceptional visual arts, performing arts, and social experiences to the Lake Norman Region. This person will lead front-of-house operations for all Cain Center for the Arts presented events, rental events, and other special events, providing exceptional service to all patrons, staff, and volunteers.
Please note: The position requires work time during the evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
The Event Manager will report directly to the Cain Center for the Arts Director of Ticketing and Patron Services.
Principal Accountabilities, Performances
• Be present at all Cain Center for the Arts performances and other Cain Center events as assigned to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
• Basic knowledge of Etix ticketing system to be able to sell tickets efficiently, troubleshoot ticketing issues on night of show and run end of night reports and audits.
• Operate Clover Credit Card system to run reports and batch system at end of the night as needed.
• Oversee all Cain performance front-of-house volunteer operations, including but not limited to: managing usher corps at on-site scheduled events, leading pre-performance meetings with usher corps; review volunteer performance at regular intervals with Donor & Patron Services Coordinator.
• Work with Cain staff to assess interests/skills of volunteers and match with appropriate activities; engage with existing volunteers regularly and provide feedback and guidance as needed; provide volunteer performance feedback to Donor & Patron Services Coordinator.
• Collaborate with Cain Center team to execute volunteer appreciation activities throughout the year.
• Serve as an ambassador for the Cain Center for the Arts
• Availability to attend weekly Operations Department meetings either in person or virtually.
Principal Accountabilities, Rentals
• Serve as primary on-site contact for assigned Cain Center rental events in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee facility well being for events including but not limited to: ensure facility is being maintained according to rental agreement and Cain Center for the Arts standards and all policies and procedures are being followed.
• Coordinate with Food & Beverage team on event day to ensure proper needed operations for event.
This part-time, non-exempt, event-based position (estimated 20-25 hours per week) will require weekday, evening, and weekend availability, long periods of standing and/or sitting, and regular use of information systems and technology. Compensation: $16.00 hourly
