Event Manager/Server
Description
Five Iron Golf is the country's premier indoor golf and entertainment experience, with 26 locations nationwide and more on the way. Five Iron Golf’s core mission is to seamlessly meld golf and entertainment, and in the process make golf inclusive and accessible for all.
The Event Manager is responsible for guiding guests through their Five Iron Golf experience, acting as an Event host to ensure guest satisfaction and engagement, focusing on the fun that Five Iron Golf offers.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following:
• Work closely with the General Manager of Social and Event Sales Managers to execute elevated event experiences for all events, ensuring positive customer experiences and the successful delivery of contracted services.
• Create banquet event orders, process payments, and manage simulators and/or spaces based on contracts.
• Manage event timelines to ensure organized and timely activities.
• Train and coordinate with various staff roles to provide a premium event experience.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food meets customer expectations.
• Lead on-site during events, handling guest greetings, space preparation, issue resolution, and financial closing.
• Contribute ideas for improving event experiences, increasing revenue, and providing feedback to the Sales team to enhance return business.
• Purchase and manage event-related inventory.
• Consistently participate in on-site event execution, including evenings and weekends.
• Support the Event Sales Manager with administrative tasks and attend weekly meetings to review banquet event orders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to create additional events and experiences
• Follow Five Iron standards for guest engagement, including prompt drink service, upselling techniques, and contributing to a lively atmosphere
• Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products and services, including technology, lessons, leagues, memberships, as well as spirits, beer, wine, and food and beverage offerings. Use this expertise to confidently sell and cross-sell across various offerings.
• Display attention to detail by actively checking in with Guests throughout their booking to ensure guest satisfaction and engagement at all times.
• Accurately take food and drink orders
• Serve food and beverages in a timely and courteous manner
• Use point-of-sale terminals to enter orders and process payments accurately
• Take pride in ensuring guests' enjoyment by actively checking in with guests throughout their booking to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any concerns
• Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food handling, ******* service, and cleanliness
• Verify guests' legal drinking age
• Assist with closing duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
• High school degree or equivalent; college degree is a plus.
• Experience managing and/or coordinating events or server and/or hospitality experience is encouraged but not required
• Passion for golf and an understanding of the game’s rules is strongly encouraged.
• Strong customer service skills with a customer-centric approach.
• Upbeat energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with a focus on planning and follow-through.
• Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Must obtain proper licensing and certifications for the location.
