Job Description
Solicit and book catering business in the following areas: social events, food and beverage outlets, cultural events, local corporate functions, and holidays.
Respond to catering leads within a timely manner, ensuring all necessary information is collected and contracts are prepared accurately.
Schedule and conduct site visits with clients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Create and send all catering contracts with accurate information, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
Meet with clients and finalize all arrangements to the finest details, ensuring seamless event execution.
Confirm all event-related information with clients, guaranteeing a successful and memorable experience.
Establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to and post conference, encouraging repeat business and driving revenue growth.
Assist in completing other paperwork, forecasts, and reports essential in tracking department progress.
Assign suitable space for various functions, such as meetings, food and beverage services.
Initiate billing procedures, ensuring deposits and credit applications are received with adequate information and within an acceptable timeframe.
Develop and update a list of target sources on a weekly basis, identifying new opportunities and growing existing relationships.
Work collaboratively with the team to reach budget goals, fostering a culture of accountability and shared success.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Events, while maintaining compliance with established guidelines and protocols.
Qualifications:
Proven leadership experience in a similar role, with a track record of success in sales and customer service.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications and experience with Opera Cloud and OSEM preferred.
University/College degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
Strong problem-solving abilities and high level of responsibility and reliability.
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
Familiarity with food and beverage service and preparation, including cultural and kosher foods.
Understanding of food and labor costs, with the ability to control and optimize these expenses.
