Position: EVS Teacher (Primary Section – Grade 4 & 5)

Job Summary
The EVS Teacher for Grades 4–5 is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate Environmental Studies lessons in alignment with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will foster curiosity, observation, and awareness about the environment, community, health, and daily life through interactive teaching methodologies and experiential learning.
The role requires creating a stimulating classroom environment that nurtures inquiry, critical thinking, and practical understanding of concepts related to science and social surroundings.
Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Planning & Lesson Delivery
• Plan and deliver EVS lessons as per the CBSE curriculum and school academic framework.
• Prepare yearly planners, monthly lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching aids.
• Teach concepts related to:
• Plants and animals
• Human body and health
• Environment and natural resources
• Community helpers
• Transport and communication
• Weather and seasons
• Food, water, and hygiene
• Integrate real-life examples and practical observations into lessons.
2. Classroom Management
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and student-friendly classroom environment.
• Encourage active participation, questioning, and discussion among students.
• Manage classroom discipline with patience and empathy.
• Ensure safety and proper behavior during classroom and outdoor activities.
3. Activity-Based Learning
• Conduct hands-on and experiential learning activities such as:
• Nature walks
• Simple experiments and observations
• Model making
• Group projects
• Charts and presentations
• Field visits (if applicable)
• Use smart boards, audiovisual aids, and creative resources to enhance learning.
4. Assessment & Evaluation
• Design and conduct formative and summative assessments as per CBSE guidelines.
• Prepare question papers, worksheets, class tests, and project-based assessments.
• Evaluate students’ academic performance and maintain progress records.
• Provide timely feedback to students and parents.
5. Student Development
• Foster environmental awareness and responsible citizenship among students.
• Encourage curiosity, observation skills, and logical thinking.
• Support students’ holistic development through participation in co-curricular activities, exhibitions, and school events.
6. Parent & School Coordination
• Attend parent-teacher meetings and communicate student progress effectively.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers for interdisciplinary learning.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and school programs.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Science / Education / relevant subject
• B.Ed. mandatory
• CTET / TET qualification preferred
• Minimum 2–4 years of teaching experience in primary grades, preferably in a CBSE school

• Strong subject knowledge in EVS / Science / Social awareness topics
• Excellent classroom management skills

• Good communication skills in English
• Creativity in lesson planning and activity design
• Ability to make concepts simple and relatable
