Key Responsibilities:
Develop innovative and appealing menus for various catering events, considering client requirements, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability. Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistent quality and adherence to recipes. Manage and train the kitchen brigade, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Control food costs, manage inventory, and ensure efficient ordering and utilization of ingredients. Maintain rigorous standards of hygiene, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and storage areas, adhering to all health regulations. Collaborate with event managers to finalize event details, including staffing, logistics, and client-specific needs. Ensure timely execution of all culinary aspects for events, from preparation to service. Monitor food quality and guest satisfaction, making adjustments as necessary. Contribute to menu costing and pricing strategies. Stay abreast of culinary trends and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification from a recognized institution. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a senior culinary role, with significant experience in high-volume catering. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards. Exceptional palate and creativity in menu design and execution. Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and purchasing. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
