Within Corporate and Investment Bank Digital & Platform Services, Securities Services Operations provides operational support for all Corporate and Investment Bank Securities processing, Custody, Fund Services, and Client Account Services. Job Description
The Funds Services OCM is responsible for the oversight of the control environment for core functions that support the Corporate and Investment Bank . This includes Fund Services including utilities such as Trades, Global Derivates Operations (GDO), Global Reconciliation and Investigations team(GRIT); Transfer Agency and Investment Management Operations (IMOS)
The Operations Control Management is a key function for Operations in the current environment and to meet the increasing demands from the business and regulators. The focus of the is ownership, enhancement, and execution of operational controls. The Operations Control Management Lead will work in partnership with senior Operations management team and key stakeholders to provide a comprehensive ongoing view of operational risk.
Job Responsibilities
Lead Proactive Review & Control Design
• Target and execute proactive process-control deep dives based on data analysis, themes and trends, emerging risk, and cycle.
• Support the implementation and adherence to policy with conformance reviews.
• Assess control design through systematic questionnaire, FMEA analysis (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Targeted control re-design using Design Thinking methods.
Identify & Assess Operational Risk
• Review risk event and errors internally and externally where relevant
• Implement lessons learned with all relevant operations
• Evaluate emerging risks front to back with business and technology partners
Provide Governance & Oversight
• Manage control forums including content and agenda, action tracking and closure.
• Set and govern standards for risk event capture and escalation,
Support Audit & Regulatory Review
• Coordinate interactions with audit, compliance, and regulators through exam process
• Isolate themes and trends and implement lessons learned in relevant operations
• SOX testing & SOC1 delivery (Sarbanes - Oxley)
Monitor the end-to-end Control Environment
• Monitor operations risks metrics reporting and trigger-based escalation processes
• Monitor and participate in raising, executing, and closing of control action plans on time
• Play a critical role in technology enhancements, new application design & associated implementation from controls, access, standards, etc.
Manage CORE (Control and Operational Risk Evaluation)
• Develop hands-on understanding of CORE structures and content
• Proactive risk governance i.e. identifying and linking metrics into CORE
'Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
Several key skills will be important in this role including:
• Knowledge of the client onboarding and Cash/Securities settlements processing
• Solid understanding of client reference data and its role in CIB business processes
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically with respect to data, technology, risk/control, and regulatory agendas.
• Strong organizational & planning skills and a track record of delivery
• Strong data orientation and ability to lead on data culture, practice development and tooling
• Good leadership, influencing & communication skills with the ability to collaborate with others at all levels and across disciplines in a virtual organization
• Ability to deal with issues on a global, cross business levels.
• Experience with data visualization tools
