Job Description

Job description

About the role

As the Executive Director, Legal and Policy you will play a pivotal role within the new Office of the Tasmanian Racing Integrity Commissioner (TasRIC). You will support the delivery of the TasRIC’s functions and powers and the significant reform program of works that will be required, including the development of the new integrity framework. Your responsibilities will include providing strategic advice, legal guidance, analysis and policy solutions on a range of complex, high risk or sensitive racing integrity matters and in the conduct of hearings and enquiries.

This is a unique career opportunity to contribute to the future of the racing industry in Tasmania.

About you

As an experienced, delivery focused leader you have a solid background in investigation and compliance processes in the Tasmanian racing industry and/or sports integrity body. You excel in building positive and productive relationships, collaborating and engaging with key stakeholder groups in a diverse and dynamic operating environment.

Given the nature of the role it is crucial that the occupant of the position has been admitted, or qualified for and entitled to be admitted, as a barrister or practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania under the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007.

The role is a Senior Executive office for a contract period of up to 5 years and offers an attractive remuneration package, which incorporates salary ranging from $183,884 to $202,163 p.a., plus 11.5% superannuation and private use of a fully maintained vehicle.
