Job Summary

integrated program of alumni relations that supports the objectives of the University of North Georgia. The position reports directly to the Vice President for University Advancement and involves working closely with other advancement staff members, trustees, volunteers, and other university representatives to build and sustain strong and continuing relationships with external constituents. The director provides leadership to the University's efforts to serve and engage alumni through alumni events, gatherings, and reunions, special events on campus, volunteer service and financial support. The director also serves as Executive Director of the University of North Georgia Alumni Association (UNGAA), the UNG Young Alumni Board, and as an ex-officio member of the governing body of the UNGAA. Day to day job responsibilities require cell phone for frequent response to urgent UNG business at any time of the day or night. The ability to work evenings and weekends for alumni events both on-campus and off campus. The ability to travel both in-state and out of state.

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and holds the responsibility of serving as a mandatory reporter for all Clery Act crimes.

Responsibilities
• Develop, manage, implement, and regularly assess alumni programs and initiatives that are consistent with the goals of the University and the UNGAA.
• Supervise and manage staff of individuals hired to carry out the various projects and tasks specific to the Office of Alumni Relations.
• Develop programs to engage graduates of the last decade to include career development, networking, mentoring and philanthropy. This includes partnering with departments within UNG to develop, implement and manage these programs.
• Serve as Executive Director to the UNGAA and serve as an ex-officio member of the UNGAA Board.
• Support and participate in alumni and university events and activities.
• Support university and development communications projects and publications by contributing content as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's required

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's preferred. Preferred experience includes three or more years in higher education, alumni affairs and/or advancement.
• Experience in education, admissions/recruiting, sales/marketing, fundraising, and volunteer management may also be applicable.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Knowledge of Windows operating platform and Microsoft Office programs required; knowledge of Blackbaud programs Raiser's Edge and NetCommunity is preferred.
• The director must possess effective organizational and project management skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills to work within a team-oriented organization. The director must possess the ability to motivate and manage volunteers; the skills to establish priorities, set objectives and achieve stated goals.
• This position requires the ability to organize and work on multiple projects concurrently. The director will demonstrate outstanding professionalism, diplomacy, tact, and judgment to support extensive external contact with alumni, parents, friends, trustees, donors, and volunteers.
