providing educational leadership to regions and schools

promoting excellence in teaching practice and learning outcomes

developing and implementing operational policies to achieve outcomes

setting directions for the delivery of services.

About The Job

As the Executive Director of the Schooling Operations and Initiatives Branch, you will provide strategic leadership across key operational areas within the Schools Group. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing cross-agency collaboration, initiatives, and services to drive excellence in school operations and educational outcomes. This includes:

prevention and response to major incidents that compromise education provision

managing system processes relating to home schooling, student behaviour including exclusions

overseeing agricultural education programs and facilities

the delivery of government and system operational priorities such as the Kimberley schools Project, Scaling Up Success in Remote Schools Program and the Early Years Partnership

As a key part of our Department’s senior leadership team, the position is responsible for providing quality, high level advice on the development and management of initiatives that will enhance the delivery of public education and improve student outcomes across the state.

As Executive Director Schooling Operations and Initiatives, you will lead your team in the promotion of cultural responsiveness that aligns with the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework, and the establishment of processes that will achieve agricultural and regional education initiatives.

The Ideal Applicant

This branch requires a dedicated leader with exceptional people skills to lead cross agency collaboration at a state and national level. The key focus of this position is to lead the prevention, response and recovery of major incidents that may compromise the provision of education in our schools.
