This role sits within the Retail Credit Risk team, a key part of the Group’s Risk division, responsible for shaping and executing credit risk strategies across the customer lifecycle.

The Collections Strategy team plays a critical role in transforming how we engage with customers in arrears, using data, analytics, and AI to drive better outcomes for customers and the bank. With a focus on innovation and operational efficiency, this team is leading the shift from traditional collections to a future-fit, technology-enabled model. You’ll be instrumental in modernising collections strategy, uplifting team capability, and ensuring our credit risk practices remain aligned with our risk appetite and customer-centric values.

This role is pivotal in leading the transformation of collections strategy, overseeing a large team, and driving the adoption of AI and advanced analytics to improve customer engagement and credit outcomes.

Your day could look like (but not limited to):

Lead the development and execution of innovative collections strategies across retail credit products.

Oversee the transformation of the operating model, embedding AI and automation to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

Monitor portfolio-level credit risk exposures and ensure alignment with risk appetite and tolerance thresholds.

Develop and implement credit risk policies and standards in consultation with business leadership.

Provide strategic insights and practical recommendations to senior management on credit risk and collections performance.

Lead complex credit risk projects and process redesign initiatives to modernise collections and uplift team capability.

Manage and develop a high-performing team of 20+ professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Engage with stakeholders, clients, and governance forums to provide guidance, challenge, and thought leadership.

Research and apply best practices in credit risk and collections strategy to ensure future readiness.

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across senior internal and external audiences.

Strategic thinking and innovation mindset, with the ability to challenge legacy processes and design future-fit solutions.
