Salary – $113,574 to $125,719 per annum plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role
As the Executive Support Officer, you will provide high‑level executive, analytical and administrative support to the Commissioner. You will play a critical role in enabling the effective operation of the Office of the Commissioner and supporting executive and governance functions to deliver business outcomes.

Please Note: This is not a working from home role and some intrastate travel may be required with overnight stays

What you’ll do
As part of the Office of the Commissioner, you will:
Deliver high‑quality secretariat services to committees and meetings, including preparing agendas, coordinating papers from key stakeholders, drafting minutes, and tracking and following up actions.
Prepare, collate and quality‑assure briefing material, reports, presentations and other papers to ensure the Commissioner is well informed for meetings, functions, events and presentations.
Coordinate, collate and review incoming correspondence, reports and briefings from executives and staff to ensure content meets quality standards, deadlines and governance requirements.
Provide analysis and advice to support the Office of Commissioner in making decisions and meeting governance requirements and standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement by maintaining and updating administrative systems, processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and service delivery across the Office.

You will also
Analyse information, identify issues and risks, and contribute to practical solutions to support informed decision‑making.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective collaboration and communication.
Exercise initiative, sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.

You will join a small, high‑performing team within the Office of the Commissioner that values collaboration, professionalism and accountability. The role operates in a fast‑paced, sensitive and high‑profile operational environment, requiring strong attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence and discretion.

Key challenges
Meeting tight timeframes while delivering a consistently high standard of executive support.
Assessing and prioritising critical and emerging issues, determining whether to resolve matters independently or escalate to the appropriate stakeholder in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the Division’s operations, priorities, protocols and current issues to effectively manage a broad range of complex and urgent inquiries.

What we’re looking for
Proven experience delivering high‑level executive support in a complex environment, including coordinating diaries, briefings, correspondence and meetings to support effective decision‑making and executive outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines and maintain accuracy, exercising initiative, discretion and sound judgement when working autonomously in a fast‑paced setting.
Well‑developed analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare, review and quality‑assure briefs, reports and minutes that meet governance requirements and executive standards.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships, communicate clearly and professionally, and handle sensitive and confidential matters with integrity.
