Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Upholstery Sewing Machinist with 4 years + experience in the trade.
We are one of the leading high end furniture manufacturers, providing goods for high end retail, designer, and commercial projects.
Based in- Otahuhu, Auckland, New Zealand
Salary Offered – $23 -$30 per Hour
Minimum guaranteed work hours per week is 30.
About the role:
Cut, trim, sew and design furniture apparel according to the company or client’s demand
Make and/or create custom upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and Sewing methods.
Measure and cut new covering materials, using patterns and measuring and cutting instruments, following sketches and design specifications.
Ideally you will:
Possess 4+ years’ experience as a furniture sewing machinist
Be able to use and overlocking machine
Be able to operate a walking foot sewing machine
Be able to take direction and work as part of a team
Have good communication skills and a positive attitude
Be reliable with an excellent work ethic
Be able to upholster to a high standard and take pride in producing quality work
Be detail orientated whilst also working to deadlines in a fast paced environment
Be able to multi task and to respond to production changes
This is a full-time position, and the hours of work are 7am -3.30pm Monday to Friday with a scope for overtime, however this is flexible.
Available for an immediate start.
