Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is based in Bangalore, India and is engaged in the development of advanced aerospace and aviation technologies and software products. We have an immediate opening for Experienced Azure DevOps Engineer - 24/7 Operations Team (Platform Engineering), part of the global Digital Aviation Solutions business unit. This position would report to Manager - Cloud Platform Development & Operations, Digital Aviation Solutions team in India, and work closely with stakeholders across the globe. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our cloud platform on Microsoft Azure. This role involves providing round-the-clock support, working in a rotating shift schedule to ensure continuous operations and quick resolution of issues. Position Responsibilities: Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Mentors junior team members and provides guidance and solutions. Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab. Cloud Platform – Ability to work with various Azure Services like App Services, Storage, Key Vaults Infrastructure Design and Provisioning: Use Terraform to define and provision infrastructure resources, ensuring consistency and repeatability. Collaborate with teams to create reusable Terraform modules which can be used as platform components. Continuous Integration and Deployment: Configure CI/CD setup using tools like ArgoCD and OpenTofu controller for applications and infrastructure. Source Control: Aware of Branching Policies, Security, Access Token related concepts within GitLab. Infrastructure Monitoring and Alerting: Set up and configure monitoring tools to proactively monitor the health, performance, and availability of the Azure infrastructure. Create alerts and notifications to ensure timely response to any issues or incidents. Incident Management and Troubleshooting: Provide 24/7 support for infrastructure-related incidents, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly, and escalate critical problems to appropriate teams when necessary. Security: Monitor Infrastructure Security via Azure Monitor and identify remediation measures for the same. Disaster Recovery Planning and Execution: Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the Azure infrastructure. Conduct regular tests and drills to ensure the effectiveness of the plans. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain up-to-date documentation of incident resolutions, troubleshooting steps, and best practices. Share knowledge and provide training to other team members to enhance the overall support capabilities. Process: Participate in agile development practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Should be able to understand and work with Azure Kubernetes Services and Containers. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Required relevant bachelor or Master's degree. Azure Infrastructure: Good knowledge of Azure services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, databases, and security. Working knowledge of Azure Kubernetes Services like Ingress, Services, Manifests and Networking. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in using tools like Terraform to define and manage infrastructure resources as code. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like ArgoCD. Scripting and Automation: Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment tasks. Version Control: Knowledge of version control systems like Git to manage code and infrastructure configurations. Monitoring and Logging: Understanding of monitoring and logging tools to ensure the health and performance of the infrastructure. Understanding of tools like OpenTofu Controller and SigStore would be an added advantage. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: GitLab Engineer Expert. Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS). Familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices. Experience with monitoring and incident management tools. Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, + years' related work experience, etc.) Relocation: This position does offer relocation within INDIA.
