Full job description
Due to a colleague returning to study in September, we are seeking a bookseller to join our small team. This is a part-time post and we are open to applications for between 2 to 4 days a week (16 to 32 hours).
A start date earlier than September may be possible. This will involve working a Saturday.
We are a Living Wage Employer and this role is offered at London Living Wage £13.85 per hour.
Deadline for applications: 9am July 25th
Who we are looking for:
Essential requirements:
- Good physical and mental stamina
- Able to remain calm in busy situations
- Self motivated and able to follow procedures.
- Numerate: must be confident in mental maths and cash handling
- A demonstrable interest in books.
- Good communicator
- Strong attention to detail
- Prior experience in a bookshop or closely related setting.
As one of the few general and rare bookshops in central London, this is a unique opportunity for someone wanting to develop a career in bookselling.We are looking for someone who is motivated, numerate, able to follow procedures, with good attention to detail, and with good mental and physical stamina. You will be joining a small friendly, stable and supportive team.
