Job Description
Rojone is seeking an experienced Fibre Optic Cable Assembly Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Ingleburn. This is a hands-on role focused on the manufacture of high-reliability fibre optic assemblies for military, aerospace, and harsh-environment applications.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end assembly, termination, and testing of precision fibre optic cable assemblies, including tactical and expanded beam solutions used in demanding operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture fibre optic cable assemblies to military and aerospace standards
Terminate and assemble single-mode and multi-mode fibre optic cables
Build tactical fibre optic assemblies, including expanded beam connectors
Perform polishing, inspection, and testing (IL/RL, visual inspection, continuity)
Read and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
Maintain high workmanship, quality, and cleanliness standards
Troubleshoot and rework assemblies as required
Follow quality, safety, and documentation procedures
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in fibre optic cable assembly and termination
Experience with military, aerospace, or harsh-environment fibre assemblies highly regarded
Hands-on experience with tactical fibre and expanded beam connectors preferred
Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience working to IPC, MIL, or similar standards is an advantage
