As an experienced Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, performing data entry tasks, and providing exceptional customer service. • *Key Responsibilities**
• Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, including reviewing and processing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate patient records
• Perform data entry tasks, including entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems
• Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with patients and customers to ensure a positive experience
• Model and share customer service best practices with colleagues to promote a culture of excellence
• Develop strong relationships with patients and customers, understanding their needs and preferences
• Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program
• Adhere to the arenaflex Co. Policy regarding accurate dispensing throughout all applicable prescription dispensing activities
• Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required
• Take customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in finding merchandise
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
• Method (corrects and resubmits) claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the store manager
• Assist and support the Pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription medications
• Maintain knowledge of company asset safety procedures, and document claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not obtained), order errors or broken goods related to Rx capsules
• May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required
• Assist the Pharmacy Supervisor and personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities
• *Education & Personal Development**
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the unique PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration
• Attend training and complete PPLs as requested by the manager and acquire continuing education credit
• Maintain expertise and knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments
• Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE)
• *Basic Qualifications**
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
• *Preferred Qualifications**
• Choose six months of experience in retail settings
• Choose to have previous work experience with arenaflex
• Desire math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
• Desire computer skills
• Desire knowledge of store inventory management
• Prefer PTCB certification
