Discover exciting new opportunities for anaesthetists to join our department at Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua Mid Central. Our theatre complex is expanding, with nine operating theatres and a private hospital, offering a diverse range of cases.
About Our Department
Our team comprises 26 specialist anaesthetists, 8 registrars, and 6 senior house officers. We operate two separate on-call rosters for anaesthesia and intensive care, covering almost all sub-specialties except neurosurgery and cardiac surgery.

We are a 350-bed hospital in the city of Palmerston North, serving a local population of 180,000 and a regional head and neck oncology service population of 550,000. We offer a supportive work environment with over 2500 employees, actively seeking Māori kaimahi into our workforce.
What We Offer

• 2 sessions per week to develop portfolio interest – airway, paeds, etc.
• 2 off sessions per week to pursue private practice or other interests

Requirements
To be successful, you will need to be a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or have an equivalent overseas specialist qualification, and eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
