This is a progressive position within the Universities hospitality team.
The Role | Te mahi
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join one of the premium South Island employers.
As a Conference and Events team member, you will report directly to the Hospitality Supervisor, University of Otago Union and be part of a diverse hospitality operation.
In this hands-on role, your focus will be on providing and supervising the provision of food and beverage services for University of Otago functions and events.
You will need excellent people and communication skills because you will be supporting and liaising with a variety of clients.
Key tasks:
Preparing and assisting with the delivery of University of Otago functions/events.
Managing the preparation of the activity centre’s team, goods and services for events.
Ensuring that all equipment is kept clean and operated in a safe and proper manner.
Ensuring all admin tasks are carried out correctly i.e. front of house and beverage reports.
Proactively engaging with University Departments to build strong relationships and create new business opportunities.
Being part of a highly motivated high performing hospitality team.
This position will suit a person with a positive solution-based attitude.
Skills and experience | Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
Full Driver’s Licence.
Experience working in a similar environment/role.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
Basic computer literacy.

This is a variable hour (32 to 40 hours per week), permanent position with weekend and evening work sometimes required, based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

The appointment range is $26.96 to $28.04 per hour, Top of Range $28.57.
