About the roles
ADAPTBL is looking to expand our network of skilled professionals through this Expression of Interest.
We have current and emerging opportunities with Commonwealth Government clients based in Canberra, ACT and nationwide.
We are seeking candidates who are interested in labour-hire arrangements, with contracts varying in length (typically between 3 – 12 months, with possible extension). Full-time and part-time roles are available.
Duties will depend on the team’s requirements, but may include:
Maintaining detailed knowledge of specific legislation, case law, directions, instruments, principles and issues of relevance to the agency
Exercising high level judgment and common sense, and thinking critically to analyse issues and develop legal advice/solutions for the agency
Engaging with a range of range of internal and external stakeholders
Providing leadership and supervision to junior staff members
Australian citizenship is required for all roles and an existing security clearance is highly desirable.
Our ideal candidate:
We are looking for experienced professionals with demonstrated experience and knowledge in the areas of Public Law and Corporate Commercial Law, for example:
Workplace, industrial relations and compensation matters
Legislation development and process
Human rights and discrimination
Property and leasing matters
Debt recovery
Freedom of information, privacy and data access and protection
Commercial law matters such as general contract law, procurement, tendering and probity, grants, intellectual property, media, corporate structures and governance, and insurance
Disputes and litigation
Essential qualifications:
A degree in law from an Australian university, or a comparable overseas degree which is recognised in Australia for admission to practise
Practising Certificate or eligibility to attain one
