Pay: $19.00/hour
Schedule: 12-hour Night Shift | 2-2-3 Rotation
Type: Temp-to-Perm
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plastics Extrusion Operator to join a high-performance manufacturing team specializing in polymer compounds. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, extrusion experience, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor polymer extrusion machines and related equipment.
Perform basic machine setups, calibrations, and adjustments for new production runs.
Operate extrusion, forming, pressing, or compacting machines following work orders and specifications.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of all equipment and extrusion processes.
Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
Maintain accurate production, setup, and quality-control documentation.
Troubleshoot process issues and report abnormal machine conditions to the Group Leader.
Follow all company and industry safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on extrusion machinery.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
Work efficiently in an environment with heat, dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
Move raw materials and finished products as needed.
Assist production team members to ensure efficient workflow and consistent output.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
1–3+ years of extrusion or plastic molding machine operator experience (polymer extrusion strongly preferred).
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Basic math skills (measurements, calculations, troubleshooting).
Reliable work history demonstrating consistency and commitment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and stand/move throughout a 12-hour shift.
Ability to pass a Respiratory Mask Fit Test (PFT).
Ability to work in a warm, loud, and physically demanding environment.
Preferred
Experience with polymer-compound extrusion.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures.
Understanding of 5S, quality systems, or safety-focused manufacturing environments.
Work Environment
Fast-paced, hands-on production setting.
Exposure to heat, dust, odors, oil, fumes, and machinery noise.
Requires consistent use of PPE as outlined by the safety map.
