Responsibilities
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for managing the industrial security program, ensuring that both company and customer security requirements are met
This role involves working closely with personnel at all levels of Element U.S. Space & Defense, as well as government representatives, to maintain compliance with 32CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DD254, Program Classification Guides, and federal regulations regarding classified information
The FSO is expected to implement security protocols, conduct self-inspections, apply risk mitigation strategies, support customer assessments, and safeguard classified information
Additional responsibilities include overseeing the security of classified testing and training programs, managing AA&E storage, and serving as the COMSEC Custodian and local ISSM
Coordinate with internal teams (Project Managers, Department Managers, Sales) and external FSOs to assess facility capability for handling classified jobs
Manage classified visit requests, ensuring proper documentation and visitor tracking (DD254, SF153, DD1149, SCG)
Verify visitor credentials and maintain accurate tracking for classified material, personnel security clearances, and site security programs
Ensure all classified shipments comply with security requirements and permissions
Maintain and update security clearance records, training logs, and self-inspection findings
Conduct regular security briefings for employees handling classified materials, ensuring they understand the proper procedures for handling and storing sensitive data
Coordinate with government agencies to address security concerns, audits, and inspections
Occasional physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs

Job Summary: Facility Security Officer (FSO)

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for managing the industrial security program, ensuring that both company and customer security requirements are met.
