We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Assistant to support our legal team in various administrative and research tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice and providing high-quality support to our family law lawyers.
Duties
Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting thorough research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
Manage case files, including data entry, organization, and maintenance of legal documents.
Draft legal documents, correspondence, and reports to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Maintain effective communication with clients, attorneys, and court personnel through professional phone and email etiquette.
Support project management by tracking deadlines and coordinating schedules for meetings and court appearances.
Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning documents, and maintaining office supplies.
Qualifications
Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a legal environment and in family law.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in drafting legal documents.
Familiarity with legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis is preferred but not required.
Ability to conduct thorough research and compile findings into concise reports.
Strong attention to detail for proofreading documents and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Proficient in data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
