Job Description
What You'll Do:
Evaluate and analyze quote requests to determine risk acceptability, policy terms and rates to process new business;
Review and process renewals, endorsements, cancellations and maintaining retention levels based on Peace Hills underwriting guidelines;
Place facultative reinsurance on risks that exceed capacity;
Provide underwriting advice and answer inquiries from brokers;
Liaise with commercial, claims and accounting departments on mutual concerns;
Visit brokers to communicate underwriting approaches, facilitating public relations efforts and solving problems;
Foster positive working relations with both internal and external parties;
Attend industry functions to promote and represent Peace Hills;
Various other duties as required;
Guidewire experience would be considered an asset;
Travel may be required.
What You'll Bring:
Minimum 3 years underwriting experience in a similar role, or a combination of Education and experience;
Proven knowledge of policy wordings and rating guidelines;
Strong written and verbal communication;
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills;
Strong computer skills;
CIP/FCIP designation (or working towards) would be an asset;
