Fashion Design Assistant

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Fashion Designer with research on current fashion trends and materials

- Create sketches and illustrations of new designs

- Source fabrics and trims for use in garments

- Select colors, fabrics, and patterns for garments

- Create technical sketches of garments for production

- Work with pattern makers to create patterns for garments

- Assist with the prototyping process - Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

- Enrolled in a fashion design program at an accredited university or college

- Strong sketching and illustration skills

- Basic knowledge of fabrics and trims

- Ability to use design software (Adobe Illustrator preferred)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
