Job Description
BRIEFAs an apparel merchandiser and designer you will have the opportunity to influence the creation and merchandising of fashion products by developing new apparel design concepts for infant and toddler programs, sketching ideas, creating technical packages, and overseeing samples.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDETechnical Design:Create detailed technical sketches, CADs, and specifications for kids and baby apparel.Develop and maintain tech packs, including measurements, construction details, and fabric information.Conduct fit sessions, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit and comfort for children and babies.Product Development:Work closely with fashion designers to translate design concepts into production-ready garments.Manage the sampling process, including reviewing prototypes and making recommendations for improvements.Ensure all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards for children's apparel.Sourcing and Supplier Management:Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and manufacturers for apparel products.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and quality of materials.Quality Assurance:Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet company and industry standards.Conduct regular inspections and audits of suppliers and production facilities.Address and resolve any quality issues that arise during production.Market Research and Trend Analysis:Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences.Use market insights to inform product development and sourcing strategies.Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on market trends and product performance.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 4 years of experience in product development and merchandisingStrong understanding of fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market dynamicsExcellent knowledge of fabrics, materials, and manufacturing processesExceptional project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teamsFamiliarity with sustainability and ethical practices in fashionAbility to collaborate effectively with designers, production teams, and suppliersStrong communication and negotiation skillsJOB TYPE: Full-timeLOCATION: On site - South DelhiCandidates with experience of working with US / Europe buyers will be preferred.ABOUT THE BRAND Makemake Organics is an American baby and kids brand with focus on modern and sustainable fashion while respecting people and the planet.
