Job Description
DKG PVT LTD is a growing apparel company building its in-house design and production capabilities. We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative Fashion Designer / Design Coordinator to support end-to-end design development and work closely with production and sampling teams.
This role is ideal for someone who understands both design and execution and enjoys coordinating with karigars, masterjis, and production managers to bring designs to life.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Development & Documentation
Translate creative concepts, mood boards, and references into detailed tech packs and design documentation.
Develop garment flats, measurements, grading details, and construction instructions.
Prepare clear stitching, finishing, and detailing guidelines for karigars and production teams.
Maintain accurate measurement charts and fit standards across styles.
Sampling & Fit Coordination
Coordinate sampling, fittings, and revisions with karigars, masterjis, and production teams.
Manage multiple rounds of sampling and ensure timely execution.
Communicate fit comments and design corrections clearly and efficiently.
Track sample status and follow up to avoid delays.
Fabric, Trim & Material Coordination
Assist in selection of fabrics, prints, embroideries, trims, and accessories aligned with brand direction.
Coordinate fabric swatches, lab dips, strike-offs, and approvals with vendors.
Ensure materials meet design intent, quality standards, and production feasibility.
Production & Quality Support
Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure design intent is maintained during bulk production.
Support first-piece checks, pilot runs, and inline quality reviews.
Identify construction or design-related issues early and propose solutions.
Assist in maintaining quality consistency from sample stage to bulk.
Design Tracking & Coordination
Maintain organized records of designs, samples, fit comments, and approvals.
Update design trackers, sample logs, and fit records regularly.
Ensure smooth handover from design to production teams.
Creative & Team Support
Support the Creative Director in collection planning and development.
Assist with research, trend analysis, and seasonal inspiration.
Contribute ideas for silhouettes, construction improvements, and cost-efficient design solutions.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Fashion Design or relevant experience.
2+ years experience in fashion design, sampling, or design coordination.
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and stitching processes.
Experience working directly with karigars and production teams.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for flats; basic Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and strong follow-up abilities.
Ability to manage multiple styles and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
