About the Role
We are seeking a skilled professional to represent the Association with Congress and other elected officials to achieve our federal advocacy goals. This includes securing new federal funding for food is medicine research in support of our Health Care by Food initiative. The successful candidate will have access to our award-winning corporate university, Heart U, as well as additional training and support locally.
Main Responsibilities
Lobby Congress and federal agencies to advance our advocacy priorities for food is medicine.
Develop and maintain strong relationships and channels of communication with congressional offices and executive branch agency staff.
Support the development of fact sheets, briefing memos, talking points, testimony, report language, legislation, and other materials.
Collaborate with various existing coalitions, organizations, stakeholders, and consultants to support federal advocacy priorities for food is medicine.
What You Will Need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Bachelors Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, History, Sociology, or a related field of policy study.
A minimum of five years professional experience working in public policy.
The ability to operate with minimal supervision, take initiative, and produce results.
A Master's degree in public policy, political science, public administration, or a related field.
Five or more years experience working on Capitol Hill or in an executive branch agency, with preference for experience in the federal appropriations process.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
