Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Fiber Optic Technician Trainee to support our client in the expanding telecom infrastructure industry. This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors, tackle technical challenges, and contribute to the development and maintenance of fiber optic networks. Responsibilities
• Construct, maintain, and repair fiber optic cable plant.
• Dig holes, climb utility poles, and perform aerial and underground fiber construction.
• Set, remove, and repair utility poles.
• Guy, lash, de-lash, pull, and place strand, cable, and grounding systems.
• Drive company vehicles to job sites and operate aerial lift equipment.
• Read and interpret maps and work plans to effectively execute job duties.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and workflow documentation.
• Inspect and maintain tools including ladders, hand tools, and lifting equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and outage events as needed.
• Ensure crew compliance with safety standards and vehicle maintenance protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• English language proficiency (spoken and written).
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and adhere to field dress code.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
