Job Description
This is not a remote or office-based engineering role — the position requires regular on-site work, hands-on system validation, and direct client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Program, configure, and commission integrated systems across:
Security systems (video surveillance, access control, intrusion)
Fire alarm systems (panel programming, testing, integration)
Commercial AV systems (control systems, DSPs, audio/video routing)
Develop, upload, and validate control system programming (Crestron, Extron, QSC, AMX, or similar).
Perform on-site commissioning, tuning, and system validation.
Troubleshoot complex integration issues across security, AV, fire, and networked systems.
Support field installation teams by verifying cabling, network configuration, and system readiness.
Assist with rack builds, device installation, and system integration tasks as needed.
Document programming, configurations, and as-built system documentation.
Provide training and support to end-users and field technicians.
Additional Responsibilities
Hands-On Installation Support
Perform tool-in-hand installation tasks as needed, including device mounting, cabling, rack builds, and hardware integration.
Technical Leadership & Escalation Support
Serve as a technical escalation resource for field teams and support complex system issues requiring advanced programming or integration expertise.
System Health & Maintenance
Perform ongoing system health checks, firmware updates, and preventative maintenance to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
Client Communication & Support
Communicate professionally with clients and project stakeholders, providing clear status updates, recommendations, and end-user training as needed.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure programming and commissioning timelines are met and deliverables align with project requirements.
Quality & Documentation
Ensure all programming, configurations, and testing results are accurately documented and stored per company standards.
Knowledge Sharing & Training
Stay current with industry trends and technology updates, and share knowledge across the team to improve overall technical capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems integration, with hands-on experience in Security, AV, and Fire systems.
Strong knowledge
Proven experience commissioning and troubleshooting integrated systems in the field.
Strong understanding of IP networking and system integration.
Ability to work independently on-site and collaborate with project teams.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CTS-I, CTS-D, or manufacturer programming certifications.
NICET or fire alarm certifications.
Experience integrating AV, security, and IT infrastructure systems.
Prior field engineering or senior technician experience.
