The Firebolt Field Engineering team is the technical force behind our GTM organization, ensuring business growth and customer success. By bridging the gap between the technical details of our Cloud Data Warehouse technology and our customers' business goals, this team of technical experts plays a vital role in our company's success.
About the role
Our Field Engineers at Firebolt blend technical expertise and strong communication to lead the technical evaluation process for customers and prospects. They engage with both technical and business stakeholders to convey Firebolt's value, identify use cases, guide on product best practices, and lead proof of concept initiatives. They also play a crucial role in understanding and articulating our AI strategy. This role requires an experienced data professional with extensive customer-facing experience to ensure customers and prospects can quickly and easily leverage Firebolt's potential.
About the day to day
Collaborate closely with your sales partners to achieve technical win
Conduct in-depth technical presentations and product demonstrations of Firebolt's state-of-the-art Cloud Data Warehouse capabilities to both technical and business stakeholders
Conduct technical discovery to determine product suitability and proactively identify any potential obstacles
Lead end-to-end POCs (from requirements gathering to implementation) with potential customers, advising them on product best practices and optimal implementation strategies
Become a Firebolt expert while continuously staying informed about industry trends in data warehousing, data analytics, AI, and the broader ecosystem.
Contribute to Firebolt's technical strategy and product roadmap based on customer feedback and market insights
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters in computer science or affiliated engineering fields from a premier institute
4+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role, preferability presales for a technology company (e.g. sales engineer, solutions engineer, solutions architect, etc)
2+ years of hands-on experience with database/data warehouse implementations in cloud environments
Great communication skills and the ability to transfer knowledge effectively to prospects/customers
Ability to work with business and technical audiences and lead business requirement meetings, technical white boarding exercises, and SQL coding/debugging sessions
Deep understanding of data and analytics space
Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts
Fluent in SQL
Experience with analytic use cases, ETL workflows, and BI tools
Working understanding of the AI ecosystem and experience leveraging AI tools in a professional setting
Working understanding of the AWS ecosystem

The pay range listed below reflects the base salary for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. As part of our compensation philosophy, the total compensation is tailored to each candidate and influenced by factors such as job-related skills, level of experience, relevant certifications, and geographical location, to name a few.
Local Pay Range - 230,000 - 260,000 per year USD
