Job Summary
Participate in various research activities as part of the Center
for Structural Engineering Research and Pipeline Inspection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Participate in field inspection activities for research
projects.
• Maintain, repair, and set up instruments and equipment for
research projects. Set up experiments and construct experimental
apparatus. Interact with vendors and technical support of existing
equipment.
• OSHA Confined Spaces training and certification.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school graduation with vocational training in a related
field or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Electrical, mechanical, and construction experience is
preferred. Any previous experience regarding:
• Field/site work related to pipeline inspections.
• Pipeline assessment and evaluation.
• OSHA courses, specifically confined space entry per OSHA
course.
• Working in confined spaces per OSHA regulations.
• Reading GIS maps of pipelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Skill in the use of standard shop machine tools and measuring
tools.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office software and internet
browsers.
