Position Summary
The Field Service & Operations Specialist is responsible for deploying, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Orege North America’s rental dewatering and thickening equipment—including Belt Filter Presses (BFP), SLG-F units, Screw Presses, polymer systems, pumps, and auxiliary equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient installations and delivering equipment performance that consistently meets Orege’s uptime target of 98% or greater.
The Specialist is customer-facing and serves as Orege’s technical representative on-site, supporting system startup, operator training, optimization, and responsive service. This is a hands-on, travel-oriented field role essential to the success of Orege’s rental service model.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Mobilization & Installation
• Perform all activities required to install Orege equipment at customer sites, including:
• Site verification and layout
• Equipment positioning and anchoring
• Hose/piping setup
• Electrical and controls interfacing
• Polymer preparation systems
• Auxiliary system connection (pumps, conveyors, washwater)
• Follow standardized installation procedures and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations, CAD, and APSE to ensure site-specific installation accuracy.
Commissioning & Operator Training
• Conduct equipment startup, parameter verification, and commissioning checklists.
• Set up baseline operating conditions including polymer dosing, flow adjustments, control logic settings, and process monitoring.
• Train customer operators on equipment operation, safety, and daily maintenance tasks.
• Document commissioning results and communicate status to Operations leadership and Sales.
Field Operations Support & Troubleshooting
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving:
• Mechanical components
• Pumps and rotating equipment
• Sludge feed and polymer systems
• Controls and instrumentation (in coordination with EIC Manager)
• Process performance irregularities
• Perform corrective actions independently or with support from EIC or APSE teams.
• Maintain professional, timely communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
• Execute preventive maintenance activities such as lubrication, belt tensioning, inspection, washing, calibration checks, and component adjustments.
• Perform corrective repairs including replacement of hoses, fittings, sensors, bearings, seals, and other mechanical components.
• Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and parts usage documentation.
• Prepare equipment for redeployment through cleaning, inspection, and functional testing.
Customer Support & Relationship Building
• Serve as the on-site technical ambassador for Orege North America.
• Maintain professional interactions with operators, supervisors, and facility leadership.
• Communicate customer concerns, operational updates, and improvement opportunities to the Operations & Asset Performance Manager and Regional Sales Manager.
• Support customer satisfaction efforts by ensuring reliable performance and responsive service.
Safety, Documentation & Compliance
• Follow all Orege safety protocols and customer site safety requirements.
• Prepare and complete required job documentation including:
• Pre-job plans and JSAs
• Commissioning forms
• Service reports
• Time and travel logs
• Equipment condition reports
• Maintain compliance with electrical/mechanical safety practices (training provided by Orege).
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or technical school certification required; associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in field service, industrial equipment maintenance, wastewater equipment, or mechanical systems.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot pumps, motors, hydraulics, rotating machinery, valves, and mechanical assemblies.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control panels (advanced training provided).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, installation diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Must be able to travel extensively (up to 70%) within assigned regions.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background and drug screening.
