Field Service Diesel Mechanic

About the role

We're looking for a hands-on and customer-focused Field Service Mechanic to maintain and repair a wide range of diesel, petrol, and electric-powered equipment, on-site and in-branch.
What you’ll do:
Carry out on-site servicing, repairs and maintenance across a range of mobile plant and equipment, specifically pumps & generators
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, dismantle and repair engines, hydraulics and more
Perform scheduled maintenance in line with safety and environmental standards
Ensure all equipment is "Ready for Hire" and up to Kennards’ Quality Operational Management standards
Represent the Kennards Hire brand with professionalism and pride during customer interactions
About you
Qualified tradesperson (Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Light Vehicle Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic or similar)
Ideally, you have experience with pumps and generators, as well as servicing petrol, diesel, and electric-powered equipment. Experience with heavy earthmoving equipment would be a plus.
Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in a mechanical service or field service environment
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Confident using digital tools (email, mobile devices)
Valid driver’s licence and physically fit for field work
Strong communication and time management skill
