About Norwood – Our Expansion into Nelson
For more than 75 years, Norwood has proudly supported New Zealand’s agricultural and construction industries with premium machinery, trusted servicing, and nationwide expertise. As we continue to grow, we are opening a new dealership in Nelson, expanding our support across the region and strengthening service delivery for local farmers, growers, and contractors.
We are now recruiting two Field Service Technicians to form the foundation of our new Nelson service team. You will be supported by our Blenheim dealership, along with Norwood’s nationwide product, parts, and technical support network.
About the Role
This is a great opportunity to join Norwood at the ground level of a new site in a region with strong rural and horticultural demand. As a Field Service Technician, you will carry out both field-based and workshop-based servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance.
You’ll work with world-class machinery brands including Kubota, Landini, Kuhn, Väderstad, Brevi, Pichon, and Vredo - supported by ongoing factory training and access to Norwood’s National Training Centre in Palmerston North.
This role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to build strong relationships with customers across the wider Nelson/Tasman region.
To be successful, you will bring:
A heavy automotive trade qualification and/or 3+ years’ experience servicing and repairing heavy machinery
Strong technical ability and confidence diagnosing complex faults
High standards of mechanical workmanship and pride in delivering quality service
Ability to complete job documentation accurately and on time
Good computer skills, including OEM diagnostic software (or willingness to learn)
Strong customer service and communication skills
A proactive attitude, excellent work ethic, and the drive to deliver timely, high-quality results
What Norwood can offer you:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Service vehicle, phone, laptop, and tool allowance
Premier Health Business cover with nib insurance
Ongoing OEM and technical training at our National Training Centre
Support from an experienced Service Manager and dealership team in Blenheim
The opportunity to play a key role in launching and shaping a brand-new dealership
Multiple career pathways within our nationwide network of dealerships
You will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week within our core business days and hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, and also participate in a roster to provide on-call support to Norwood customers.
If you have the skills, drive, and passion for working with world-class agricultural and construction machinery, we’d love to hear from you.
