Job Summary: We are now looking for an experienced Property Accountant with 2-5 years of experience based in Ahmedabad or Vadodara. You will be an integral component of our accounting department's support team and be responsible for ensuring the correctness and effectiveness of financial operations as a Property Accountant.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of 8-10 properties, collaborating with various owners while overseeing financial transactions, cash balances, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Coordinate with the Property Accounts Payable Specialist to authorize invoice payments twice a week and ensure timely processing.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of monthly deposits while preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, audit schedules, and tax-related documentation.
• Develop and maintain Excel schedules for EDM financial reporting based on owner requirements. • Generate month-end and year-end financial reports, including reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger.
• Prepare and post 10+ monthly journal entries per property, covering insurance, expense accruals, expense/income reclassifications, real estate and franchise taxes.
• Process and record miscellaneous deposits while maintaining weekly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
• Initiate monthly wire transfers for mortgage payments and reimbursements.
• Issue stop payments when necessary and process unclaimed property funds per state regulations. • Maintain organized accounting records, including reconciliations, and oversee the monthly financial cycle for assigned properties.
Nice to have:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with property owners, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and meet reporting deadlines.
• Familiarity with property management accounting, including accounts payable and cash flow management.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
ï‚· Ensuring day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts
receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll are recorded properly.
ï‚· Maintaining internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and Program
budgets and actual expenditures;
ï‚· Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
(e.g., net assets, investments, revenue, expenses, payroll allocations, etc.), ensuring that
accounting schedules are updated and accurate.
ï‚· Consistently analyzing of financial data and presenting financial reports in an accurate and
timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
monitor progress, changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the financial status;
• Assisting leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administering and reviewing all financial plans and comparing to actual results with a view to identifying, explaining and
correcting variances as appropriate;
ï‚· Ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition.
ï‚· Monitoring cash and investment balances and performing cash flow forecasting.
ï‚· Ensuring all finance and accounting operations comply with generally accepted accounting
principles (GAAP) and federal and state laws and regulations.
ï‚· Assisting the Director and budget managers in developing and monitoring departmental,
project, and organizational budget; assisting with monthly financial reporting needs.
ï‚· Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of
external auditors. Communicating regularly with the Director.
ï‚· Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve finance and
accounting operations through technology including training staff to better utilize financial and
accounting software.
ï‚· Managing select administration activities, such as state unemployment and income tax
registrations.
ï‚· Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements. Qualifications Education and
Training
 Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field required.
 Master’s degree and/or CPA certification a plus.
ï‚· Supervisory experience a plus.
ï‚· Skills and Knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) with expertise in Excel required.
ï‚· Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
ï‚· Proficiency and hands-on experience with financial management software required.
ï‚· Experience overseeing the annual audit.
ï‚· Superior data management and data analysis skills.
ï‚· Strong time management and organizational skills.
