Job Description
Under supervision the Analyst / Senior Analyst performs advanced level accounting tasks. Creates journal entries, reconciles accounts, analyzes account balances, produces audit schedules, ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned. Typically requires specific experience in general ledger accounting. The Analyst / Senior Analyst reports to the Manager. Familiarity with internal, financial controls is preferred.
Essential Duties
Journal entries.
Record transactional activity for bank accounts.
Month end close activities – Accruals, Prepayments
Revenue accounting
Payroll Accounting
Consolidated balance sheet and income statement.
Bank reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
Variance analysis.
Produce audit schedules.
Perform SOX controls and documentation thereof
Minimum Qualifications
Education: BCom / MCom / C.A. Inter / MBA (Finance)
Experience
2 to 4 years’ work experience as a GL Accountant or higher
Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
Work Skills
Excellent verbal, telephone and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, documentation and follow-up skills
Skills in prioritizing and dealing with multiple tasks
Demonstrated experience in working well in small teams and working with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
Detail-oriented; demonstrated commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
Exhibit and promote good personal and business professional personal Ethics
