Description

Ensure safety (own and others) in compliance with corporate EHS, internal controls and business conduct guidelines.
Manage Team, support them, manage staff issues
Adhere to month-end timetable and key deadlines
Understand the impact of and communicate implications of new accounting standards/tax regulations to the local team. Implement and ensure compliance of new accounting standards/tax regulations
Management of financial data, liaison with business management teams and be the representative on Capex, IT and various project committee and thus providing financial information to stakeholders
Participate in month-end closing activities and complete all related tasks.
Responsible for Indirect tax (VAT, WHT and import duty) reporting as well as corporate income tax calculations for Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan this included the timely local tax filling and other tax reporting as requested by Corporate and local authorities.
Perform month-end and quarter-end reporting including variance analysis to management, cost center owners and reporting team, cost center review and quality assurance role on balance sheet reconciliations.
Liaising and coordinating with TE Group reporting team and stakeholders for Reporting activities
Review of monthly P&L and Balance sheet for month end Reporting
Stakeholder engagement, SLA and Quarterly KPI reporting
Quarterly statement of compliance e.g., representation letter, accounting policies and procedures questionnaires
Monthly budget/forecast to actual reporting
Annual Budgeting for Accounting
Ensure timely and accurate Financial and Corporate reporting.
Ensure proper accounting as per IFRS and local GAAP accounting guidelines.
Ensure tasks performed are in line with sound internal controls principles.
Ensure Costing/Re-costing of New products, Year-end costing activities
Analysis of assets under constructions, capitalization of projects, depreciation
Ensure proper lease accounting based on coordination with corporate finance team
Preparation of standalone and consolidated financials as per Local GAAP for statutory audits.
Ensure to have all FR and Inventory applicable controls are prepared, reviewed and sign off within agreed timelines.
Partner with various functions to streamline and manage processes.
Recommend improvements and implementation to develop and improve internal controls.
Support to other functions data for Indirect tax audit, direct tax assessments, budget workings
Participate on ad hoc projects and any other activities assigned from time to time.
Prioritized Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Safety
Ensure own safety and that of team-mates through active involvement in safety programs.
Financial Data Integrity
Ensure appropriate processes are in place to underpin the financial integrity of the Huntsman business including:
- Compliance with local laws, internal controls, and applicable local, international & US Accounting Standards.
- Appropriate internal controls.
- Completeness, accuracy and timeliness of local GAAP and IFRS reporting.
Financial Management
Ensure Huntsman business reporting requirements for assigned entities are met, including:
- Management reporting (corporate and local reporting including consolidations systems actual & forecasts).
- Lead annual statutory audit by constructive timeline planning with all the stakeholders and liaise with external auditor to ensure timely delivery of audited financial statements Assist in providing financial information to various stakeholders as required.
- Delivery of services consistent with the business services strategy including service level
Agreements and key performance indicators.
Stakeholders Management
Liaison with business management teams (including progress reporting & Business Services representative).
Business Advisory
Add value by providing professional service resources to support Huntsman Global Business goals including, S&OP, general accounting support, payroll, and capital expenditure review/authorisation.
Project Management
Provide project management for key projects within Accounting or in support of key business opportunities.

Other key responsibilities:
Actively seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Support line manager on global/ regional initiatives.

Education and Experience
Charted Accountant with Minimum 8-10 years accounting and/or auditing experience within a large corporations / multinational environment

Specific Skills and Knowledge
High integrity and ethical values.
High level of personal commitment to each task, a can-do attitude, and a drive to deliver
Strong communication skills and should have proactive approach to problem solving
Minimum 8-10 years accounting and/or auditing experience within a large corporations / multinational environment
Knowledge of SAP, Consolidation tool (such as TM1) is a significant advantage
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, etc.
Able to prioritize tasks and to work to deadlines
Experience in managing change, implementing new procedures and re-engineering processes is an advantage
Experience in working in a service driven, customer focused environment
Operated in a internal control or equivalent environment such as SOX is an advantage
Knowledge of Process Improvement is an added value
Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
