FINANCE OFFICER

Thunder Bay, ON
The Finance Officer is responsible for processing Accounts Payables, Employee Payables and related third party payables, in addition to collecting, verifying, maintaining and processing accurate bi-weekly payrolls and remittances. The Finance Officer will also distribute payment statements and respond to employee questions regarding taxes, deductions and employee benefits. To ensure all financial data is captured and filed according to the NALSC policy and procedures.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of accounting and payroll procedures
Familiarity with Labour Legislations
Advance mathematical skills and a strong attention to detail
Excellent administrative, interpersonal, communication, word processing, and file management skills
Ability to process payments and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner
Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll/account system
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise with extreme discretion
Strong understanding of program processes and formats – work plans, budgets, quarterly reports, year- end reports, all financial forms, etc.
Experience with electronic and manual filing systems
Experience with Data entry with accounting programs or databases
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
The ability to speak Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree would be an asset

Hours: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)
Starting Salary: $69,662 Annually
