We are looking for an Accountant in London.

About the job

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing Finance team. You will play a key role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting across Kvadrat’s global operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconcile monthly accounts

• Prepare management reports and financial statements

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes

• Responsible for month-end and year-end closing activities

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial regulations

• Liaise with auditors and assist with audit preparation

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Collaborate with internal teams to support process improvements and cost efficiencies

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/local GAAP)

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Dynamics 365, or similar ERP systems)

• Excellent Excel and analytical skills

• Strong attention to detail and a structured work style

• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus

• A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, global environment

CONTRACT TYPE: 12 Month Fixed Term

DEPARTMENT: Commercial Group Finance

LOCATION: Television Centre, London - Hybrid

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £50,000 - £56,000 plus £5441 London Weighting, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This role is central to delivering accurate financial insights and ensuring compliance across statutory, tax, and technical accounting areas. You'll be the go-to expert for complex queries, while also maintaining a sharp eye on balance sheet integrity and month-end processes. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll be a trusted contributor in a fast-paced, commercially focused finance environment.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

• Prepare Financial Statements: Draft standalone financial statements and notes for UK entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Support Consolidated Reporting: Assist with parent company consolidation and submission of BBC Commercial Group year-end figures.

• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Technical Accounting Expertise: Address complex accounting issues including revenue recognition, leases, tax, FX, and consolidation.

• Policy & Standards Maintenance: Monitor updates to accounting standards and support internal policy alignment.

• Tax & Finance Collaboration: Provide financial data to tax teams and partner with finance teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• FX & Ad Hoc Support: Manage foreign exchange exposure and contribute to various ad hoc financial projects.

Essential Criteria

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• ACA or ACCA qualification, with a strong auditing and/or financial accounting background.

• Industry & Technical Expertise: industry exposure, solid accounting knowledge, including IFRS, FRS 101 & consolidation.

• Team and process leadership experience: Experience guiding junior team members and managing workload across a team.

• Excel & reporting skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, with hands-on experience in financial reporting and analysis.

Desired But Not Required

• Big 4 qualification and experience.

• Solid understanding of tax reporting and compliance within a financial accounting framework advantageous.

• Media & Entertainment experience preferred, but a strong enthusiasm for media and entertainment is valued.

• Experience working in a matrix organisation.

• SAP Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP for financial reporting and analysis.

• Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
