We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and support strong, accurate and insightful financial reporting across the group.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role plays a critical part in preparing consolidated monthly management accounts, Board reporting and ASX compliant Annual and Interim Financial Reports.
You will work closely with senior leaders across the business as part of the month-end review process, providing technical accounting expertise, insightful analysis and clear financial commentary. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and partnering with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post month‑end journals to support the timely and accurate close process.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly Board reporting packs.
Deliver variance analysis across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
Maintain ownership and accountability for key balance sheet accounts.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations with clear commentary and action plans.
Provide technical accounting advice and identify accounting issues and impacts.
Assist the FP&A team with annual budgets and reforecasting.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
CA or CPA qualification.
3+ years' experience in a similar financial accounting role, retail experience preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and problem solving.
