THE POSITION:
The Financial Accounting Team Leader is responsible for the delivery of efficient, customer responsive finance & accounting services and systems, and for the management of Council’s treasury and investment functions. The Team Leader will support the delivery of core financial systems to the finance team by managing a team comprising 1x System Administrator and 3x Assistant Accountants.
ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business, or another relevant field
Able to demonstrate practical experience with financial accounting services, systems, business partnering, advice, and change management
Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships within a team and across an organisation, and adapting systems and processes to meet changing organisation and customer needs
Knowledge of accounting standards, taxation and related legislation relevant to local government
Experience in production of annual statutory financial accounts
Experience in liquidity management and bank reconciliations
Experience in managing and monitoring monthly reconciliations with subsystems
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Permanent full-time position, working 70 hours per fortnight
This position is a Grade 8, with a commencing annualised salary range of $114,4++ p.a. with progression to $123,304 p.a. on demonstrated competencies. Performance progression will be up to $134,121 p.a. plus superannuation.
