Tradex is seeking to employ an Advisor Assistant on a full-time basis at its head office in Ottawa. The individual will work closely with Tradex's senior Investment Advisers in every facet of their work. The individual will work closely with Tradex's senior Investment Advisers and existing licensed advisor assistants in every facet of their work.
This position will be of interest to individuals who:
Have completed Mutual Funds or Canadian Securities Course or are able to complete it within 180 days;
Solid understanding of financial services industry;
Have a university or community college degree or equivalent experience and who have a keen interest in financial markets and working in the financial industry;
Are eager to work in a learning environment, with the excellent opportunity for career development and advancement;
Enjoy working in a team environment and who are more than willing to "pitch in and contribute" on a daily basis in a wide variety of tasks -- from the very important to the more mundane
Are bilingual;
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist Investment Advisers and existing assistants in the performance of their duties and provide customer service
Participate in the preparation of portfolio reviews, client forms, monthly & quarterly reports and assist in maintaining electronic client files
Maintain the wealth management software/dealer back office software including identifying and reconciling exceptions through FundServ and update internal database systems
Assist in marketing efforts and material creation including preparing direct mail kits and following up on leads and referrals
Request information and documentation from clients to open an account or to update the data in their account as per the industry regulatory requirements
Follow up on client trades with other mutual fund companies, trust companies, etc. to ensure proper settlement and delivery
Contact clients when needed to discuss items that may be relevant to the account
Receive and review incoming mail, e-mail and telephone calls relating to client accounts and respond as appropriate
Participate in client meetings, presentations and written communications with clients
Gather research and product information from internal and external sources
Prepare client statements and other like documentation
In addition, the incumbent will participate in a wide range of administrative and other activities associated with the operation and management of a small, profitable, progressive company such as Tradex.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Knowledge and skills for successful communication with clients and collection of accurate information
Written and verbal communication with clients and collection of accurate information
Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to provide clear information to colleagues and clients while conveying messages of varying complexity in a professional manner
Time management skills sufficient to schedule and complete work within established timeframes, while accommodating changing priorities
Maintaining current knowledge of policies, procedures, practices and tools within a dynamic environment of change
Handling client needs appropriately when the Advisor is not available
Highly organized, detail and accurate
Bilingualism preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $41,000.00-$47,000.00 per year
