Financial Controller

Al Amanah College is seeking a dedicated and strategic Financial Controller to join our team. This role is crucial to our organisation's financial health and requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in financial management, analysis, and reporting. The position is responsible for leading the school’s financial planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing data-driven insights to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
Deliver accurate and timely financial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders
Monitor compliance with financial policies, funding guidelines, and statutory obligations
Oversee financial operations including payroll, accounts, bank reconciliations, and end-of-month processes
Manage external audits and ensure readiness for all financial reviews
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and resource allocation
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, systems, and risk management practices
Liaise with auditors, financial institutions, and government agencies
Qualifications and Skills:
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or related discipline
CA/CPA accreditation highly desirable
Proven experience in financial management or as a financial controller, preferably in an educational or not-for-profit environment
Deep understanding of accounting standards, financial analysis, and compliance requirements
High-level analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach

Start Date: August 2025, or as negotiated with the successful candidate.
Salary range:$120,000 – $150,000 per annum plus superannuation (pro-rata for part-time),
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
