Intlvac is a high-tech industrial manufacturing company specializing in thin film deposition technology. We are recognized as a world leader in our field, with a team of top scientific researchers, software programmers, and mechanical and electrical engineers. We are currently seeking a Controller to support our finance and administrative team, reporting directly to the President.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, flexible, reliable, and motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial health of the company while ensuring compliance with all tax and financial regulations. This position requires expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and budget management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all accounting transactions for both our Canadian and USA companies

Prepare budgets and financial forecasts

Process tax payments in Canada and the United States

Publish financial statements in a timely manner

Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings

Ensure timely bank payments and conduct monthly bank reconciliations in multiple currencies

Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, directing and supporting team members

Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements

Report on company financial health and liquidity

Analyze financial data to support business decision-making

Audit financial transactions and documents

Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations

Manage relationships with bankers and auditors

Oversee the year-end audit process

Monitor and forecast cash flows

Manage AR team and collection process

Manage AP team and payment process

Oversee payroll process

Support Production department processes

Qualifications & Capabilities:

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (BAcc or BComm preferred)

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

CPA or CA designation (or working towards it)

Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises

Advanced proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel & Word, and ERP systems

Experience with general ledger functions

Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

A proactive, problem-solving mindset
