Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our Food Brands business. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and implementing financial controls. This role plays a critical part in the decision-making process and the overall financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with the applicable accounting standards.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders, including executive management and external auditors.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
Ensuring all Accounts Receivable are managed in time and as per the credit policy.
Managing all Accounts Payable requirements as per the company policy.
Managing all vendors and creditors efficiently to ensure there is no business impact.
Ensuring all vendor contracts are negotiated and implemented to the benefit of the organization.
Implement and monitor robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Stay up-to-date with financial and tax regulations impacting the food industry.
Cost Management:
Analyze and optimize cost structures to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Collaborate with department heads to monitor and control expenses.
Cash Flow Management:
Manage cash flow, working capital, and credit facilities to ensure liquidity and meet financial obligations.
Develop cash flow forecasts and strategies to maintain a strong financial position.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to provide insights on business performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
Identify and communicate financial risks and opportunities to the management team.
Treasury Management:
Manage banking relationships and investment activities to maximize returns while minimizing risk.
Oversee foreign exchange and interest rate risk management.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and training to ensure their growth and performance.
Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring a smooth and successful audit process.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
ERP and Financial Systems:
Utilize and optimize the SAP system for efficient financial management and reporting.
Qualifications:
• Chartered Accountant with SAP knowledge
• 6+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience in the FMCG industry, with a strong background in food production and distribution.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and financial software applications.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
This Financial Controller position is vital to the financial success and stability of our Food brands. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management and leadership within the FMCG sector and the ability to drive financial performance while ensuring compliance and financial integrity.
