What you will do
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), we are seeking a Financial Controller to join our team. This is a key leadership role, which will have primary responsibility for finance and commercial functions as well as partnering with the CEO and other stakeholders to deliver strong financial integrity and financial insights to support sales and operations. This role will also support the CEO and Board in developing strategy, funding and acquisitions, and systems improvement, all key components of our future growth pipeline.
This role leads our Finance team, who are responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of financial reporting, tax, regulatory compliance, accounts payable, cash reconciliations, accounts receivable and payroll. The Financial Controller will also be responsible for managing budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and ensuring strong financial controls, audit readiness and financial risk management.
In addition to the above, this role will have an exciting opportunity to make an impact quickly, by playing a key role in the structuring and oversight of key commercial partnerships and acquisition due diligence and integration, as well as supporting the design and implementation of a new enterprise system, which will streamline and improve ways of working across our organisation.
This is a critical role, at a critical time, to continue to evolve the sophistication of MLC’s finance and commercial processes, building financial management capability across the business and embedding automation, AI and data-driven insights into MLC’s operations.
Who you are
We are seeking someone who is aligned to our purpose and vision, and who is excited by the opportunity to drive change and improve ways of working. You will have a proven track record of developing the finance function in rapidly growing businesses, who enjoys being ‘hands on’ to mentor their team and ensure our financial processes and requirements are delivered to a high standard, and leveraging technology to enable efficiencies and business performance.
You are a strong communicator, who is confident in delivering commercial outcomes and building trusted relationships across the Executive team and wider business. Experience working within the NDIS sector and/or aged care, healthcare is highly desirable.
You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business or Accounting and will be ACA or CPA qualified.
