EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our growing Finance Team, at our Head Office in Coventry.
This role plays a key part in preparing accurate and insightful financial information, including the Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement for a range of subsidiary entities, including Plc and Water.
It covers everything from management flash reporting and monthly financials to half-year and year-end reporting, as well as the preparation of statutory accounts.
Beyond core reporting, the role actively supports other departments with their financial outputs and contributes to strengthening the overall control environment across the finance function
Further responsibilities include:
Submit financial data to Group Finance for consolidation.
Produce statutory accounts for smaller entities.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and reporting period closes.
Use Cadency for balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end tasks.
Identify performance improvement opportunities and provide insightful analysis.
Compile tax packs to support external reporting.
Manage intercompany journals and balance matching across the Group.
Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and share best practices.
Navigate multiple finance systems, including Quantum, SAP, Tagetik, and Cadency.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will bring experience in financial reporting and/or management accounting, with a solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
Strong stakeholder management and advanced system skills—particularly in MS Office and SAP—are essential, while familiarity with Tagetik, Cadency, and Quantum is desirable.
You’ll have excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
