Job Description
As a Fire Alarm Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and protection of properties and lives. Your primary responsibility will be to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems, ensuring they are fully operational and compliant with all safety standards. You will also serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on fire safety.

What You’ll Do
Technicians must be able to perform the following during the course of their employment:
Conduct inspections on Fire Alarm and related systems. Performing inspections completely and effectively with other technicians. This includes various fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and monitoring. Ensure all systems are in operation at end of shift.
Repair systems and perform maintenance. Repair all types of systems (as described above) as required to ensure operability. Perform maintenance to conform with codes and to maintain peak performance of systems.
Prepare reports for completed inspections, repairs, or maintenance. Complete reports in an organized, timely manner. Reports should be completed onsite when possible, request additional time when necessary.
Complete scheduled appointments and provide appropriate comments. Use scheduling software to complete appointments and ensure comments/deficiencies are complete and concise for use by other members of the team.
Utilize scheduling software as directed by management. Ensure scheduling software is filled out completely and correctly for use by other members of the team.
Complete timecard submissions. Complete accurate timecard entries throughout the day and submit complete time cards weekly on time.
Maintain company vehicle. Perform basic maintenance such as oil changes, headlight and wipe checks, ensure cleanliness, ensure adequate stock levels, and perform safety checks.
Represent Sterling Fire with clients. Ensure Sterling Fire’s interests are always being represented while communicating with clients and while on site.
Communicate with dispatch and management. Effectively communicate with the office to ensure your productivity. This covers a wide range of scenarios from scheduling items to training, from safety to vacation requests. Communications should be constantly taking place to ensure your effectiveness in all aspects of your job.
Attend service calls. Attend regular hours and after-hours calls as directed and ensure systems are left in operation.
Troubleshoot systems. Perform technical investigations and troubleshoot as required. Repair systems and ensure systems are left in operation.
Participate in on-call rotation. Be available and prepared for standby shifts. Calls must be answered immediately and attended to within 1 hour if in town, departure within 30 minutes if out of town. Ensure systems are left in operation.
Appearance. Technicians are required to ensure they are representing Sterling Fire appropriately with their appearance. Professional clothes/company uniform and a neat appearance are requirements of the job.
What You Need
Electrician with “P” – ticket or CFAA license
Certification in applicable field. This may include one or several of the following: Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting, Monitoring
Ability to operate a company vehicle - Clean driver’s abstract is required
Wage
$35.00 - $44.00 per hour
