Job Description
M.R. Electricians, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform fire alarm work per job specification, ensuring compliance with national and local codes.
Supervise job site activities, including material management and team oversight.
Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors to enhance project outcomes.
Review fire alarm drawings and assign duties to efficiently execute project plans.
Collaborate with the project manager to ensure timely and proper completion of projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise on job sites, providing effective recommendations.
Order materials as needed and manage inventory on-site.
Train and guide apprentices and helpers in fire alarm systems and best practices.
Coordinate fire alarm work with other subcontractors to ensure efficient use of time and materials.
Maintain high-quality standards throughout all phases of the project.
Complete and document service tickets for work outside of project scope or service calls.
Respond to fire alarm system failures, troubleshooting, and inadvertent alarms on-site.
Supervise inspections and address any issues noted by inspectors.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
NICET Level 3 Certification or 6+ years of experience in the Fire Alarm field.
Valid drivers license with a good driving record.
Successfully pass a background check.
Knowledge of Fire-Lite and Silent Knight systems is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret fire alarm blueprints and contracts.
Experience with programming, enabling, and disabling fire alarm systems.
Strong team leadership skills, including task delegation, communication, and mentoring.
Comprehensive understanding of current NFPA and NEC codes as they relate to fire alarm systems.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification- Preferred, not required.
Journeyman License or higher.
Commitment to adhering to all safety codes and regulations.
NICET Certifications.
