Summary
We are seeking a Kitchen Helper to join our dynamic team at MACHINO DONUTS. In this role, you will assist with food preparation, baking, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Your contributions will be vital in delivering exceptional products and customer experiences.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for baking and cooking.
• Support the baking process by following recipes and guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
• Package finished products for display and sale.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with guests.
Requirements
• Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for plant-based food and customer service.
Location: Toronto, Ontario (Must live within a 30-minute commute)
Shift: Starts at 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM or sometimes dayshift (12:00 PM to 8:00 PM)

Job Responsibilities:
Baking & Preparation:
• Shape, bake, and decorate donuts to ensure consistent quality.
• Prepare ingredients, fillings, and glazes.
• Follow food safety and cleanliness standards.
Decorating & Presentation:
• Carefully glaze, top, and finish donuts to match our standards.
• Keep displays looking fresh and appealing.
Customer Service & POS Handling:
• Assist customers with orders and recommendations.
• Use the POS system, handle cash, and pack donuts efficiently.
• Make coffee and prepare simple beverages.
General Duties:
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Be flexible and willing to learn new tasks.
Requirements:
• Must live within a 30-minute commute to our location.
• At least 1 year of experience in the food industry (bakery, café, restaurant, or similar).
• Able to start at 5:00 AM and work flexible hours.
• Responsible, eager to learn, and adaptable.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Job Description
WHAT’S THE JOB?
Fire Camps are remote camps that require rapid mobilization of staff to get to site in a variety of different locations in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
You must be comfortable working in a remote bush camp setting. Bush camps are often hours away from any town, with limited to no cell reception and Wi-Fi. Must be comfortable sleeping in a tent and living in the outdoors as accommodations can range from a lodge to a tent depending on the site.
Key responsibilities include:
• Maintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout shift, including lunchrooms, dining room, servery, ware wash area, main kitchen and storage areas
• Regular sweeping and mopping of all floors, including walk-in coolers and storage areas
• Stocking of all needed food, beverage and paper/disposable supplies as required
• Disposing of all garbage, cardboard and recyclables as required
• Correctly label, date and rotate all products put out for service
• Assisting in food production as required
• Receiving and storing of supplies (food, beverages, chemical and paper/disposables)
Qualifications
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• Large-scale kitchen assisting in camp settings, fire camps, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong asset
• Current Food Safe certification is an asset
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract is a strong asset
• A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction
• Ability to prioritize multiple task demands and organize a work schedule
• Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
• Ability to handle the following physical demands:
• Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
• Climb ladders or stairs
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time
• Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
• Perform work with arms at full length
• Work with arms above shoulder height

Work schedule and remuneration:
Fire camp workers must have the ability to commit to a minimum 2-3 week rotation. Site locations are in remote bush settings and may require tent accommodations dependent on the location of the fire activity in the region. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. Wages are paid on an hourly basis and include a starting rate of $18.73.
